Its primary mission is to finance climate adaptation projects and programs in developing countries that are particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change. These initiatives are aimed at reducing the vulnerability of communities and ecosystems to climate impacts, improving resilience, and enhancing adaptive capacities. UN SDGs

United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 global objectives established in 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. These goals aim to address the world’s most pressing challenges by eradicating poverty, reducing inequality, and fostering environmental sustainability. They are designed to guide nations, businesses, and civil society in creating a more just, inclusive, and sustainable world. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals:
Green Climate Fund (GCF)

Green Climate Fund (GCF) is a critical international initiative established to address climate change by financing efforts in developing countries. Created in 2010 under the framework of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), it plays a pivotal role in supporting countries in their transition to low-emission and climate-resilient development pathways. GCF aims to limit or reduce greenhouse gas emissions in developing countries while promoting sustainable development. It also seeks to help countries adapt to the impacts of climate change by funding projects that improve water resources, agricultural practices, and disaster management, among other vital areas. GCF mobilizes funding from both public and private sources, with contributions from governments, foundations, businesses, and multilateral organizations. Developed nations are encouraged to contribute financially, with the goal of raising $100 billion per year to support climate action. The fund’s resources are then used to finance climate projects such as renewable energy initiatives, reforestation, climate-resilient infrastructure, and capacity-building programs.
Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA)

Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) is an integrated approach that aims to address the challenges of food security and climate change. As the agricultural sector is both a contributor to and highly vulnerable to climate change, CSA focuses on transforming agricultural systems to be more resilient, sustainable, and productive in the face of climate variability. The key pillars of CSA include: Resilience and Adaptation: It promotes practices that help farming systems become more resilient to climate change impacts. This includes the adoption of drought-resistant crops, improved water management practices, and better soil management techniques to reduce vulnerability to climate extremes. Increased Productivity: CSA aims to sustainably increase agricultural productivity and incomes. This is essential for meeting the food demands of a growing population, particularly in regions where food insecurity is prevalent.
